2022/2023 –

Peter van Assche and Katja Hogenboom from bureau SLA will share a visiting professor position at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) by a grant from the Sto Foundation. The Sto Foundation initiates and funds research projects aimed at developing new, ecological, and energy-saving building materials with aesthetic appeal. Three full positions will be granted by the Sto funding. In addition to Peter and Katja from bureau SLA, Kerstin Müller (InSitu) and Maarten Gielen (Rotor) will be appointed as visiting professors for one year. 

The title of the research is: “Sustainable Materials for a new Architectural Practice – Entering a circular economy

The selected guest professors will be integrated with their research topics into the “ChangeLab! WACKER / KIT Innovation Platform for Future-Oriented Sustainable Construction”, headed by Prof. Dirk E. Hebel. This innovation platform aims to bring together KIT students, architects, engineers and construction experts looking for new approaches in the field of material development and construction methods for a circular economy.
