De bewegende kleurrijke folly is een vrolijke toevoeging aan het Kometenplein naast het treinstation Hoofddorp. Ze dient als thuisbasis voor ontmoetingen buiten. Foodtrucks meren hier aan, na werktijd wordt er geborreld en kleine evenementen worden rondom het 10 meter hoge object georganiseerd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treinstation Hoofddorp bevindt zich naast het bedrijventerrein Beukenhorst West. Het terrein ligt precies tussen het station en het dorpscentrum in. Tot voor kort was het een monofunctioneel, pragmatisch bedrijventerrein: kantoorgebouwen en parkeerplaatsen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het gebied gaat sterk veranderen met de komst van Hyde Park<\/a>: MVRDV maakte het masterplan voor bijna 4.000 woningen, Dijk&co Landschapsarchitectuur heeft een ontwerp opgesteld voor de openbare ruimte. Momenteel worden de woningen gerealiseerd naar ontwerpen van MVRDV, MVSA, Studio Ninedots, Barcode en Team V. Van een desolaat bedrijventerrein wordt het gebied de nieuwe entree van Hoofddorp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Met de komst van Kastan<\/a> en de folly is het stationsgebied ook in de tussentijd een prettige plek om te verblijven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het driehoekige paviljoentje bestaat uit vier segmenten. Twee van de vier segmenten kunnen verticaal bewegen en zo van positie wisselen. Op deze manier gaat het paviljoentje open en dicht. In gesloten toestand bevinden de deur en het uitgifteloket zich op 6 meter hoogte, na wisseling zijn ze vanaf het plein toegankelijk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De folly is in een loods in onderdelen gefabriceerd en kan relatief eenvoudig gedemonteerd worden. Na voltooiing van Hyde Park kan het paviljoen elders een nieuwe bestemming krijgen. De belijning in combinatie met de driehoekige vorm maakt dat iedere zijde op een andere manier wordt ervaren. De lijnen zijn als een dazzle paint: ieder perspectief geeft een nieuw beeld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
